My name is Amanda and this is just a little bit about who I am and where I am as a photographer.
I’ve always enjoyed taking photographs, even as a child getting my hands on a camera whenever I could find one and taking pictures of everything I could before the film ran out.
Then I started approximately seven years ago going to Kendall College of Art and Design, going every weekend in the autumn and during the summer taking photoshop class,drawing, painting and sculpting as well .
About 5 years ago I went to take a photography class at Kendall how to process film and photographs in the darkroom, along with how to work with lighting and the art of capturing any and turning it into something beautiful. I started taking pictures of everything; I got really fascinated with taking pictures of people and trying to capture the moods and to get their true expressions.
Everyone is different and on some people it’s very hard to get it, others it’s very easily done. So I kept taking the classes and also graphic design and other classes. Then I took my friends and family out places and different times of the day and even in their natural state and shot pictures and develop them.
Now I do digital and film, lately it’s more digital. I work with Photoshop,trying as much as possible to capture everything naturally.
Everyone is different and I love to capture that person’s inner beauty along with the outer beauty.
I really enjoy taking photographs because you can capture the moment in time and keep it there whenever you wish to look back on anything of your life and the fact that you can capture the expressions in the people or the scene that you take for granted and don’t always see and I think its a great thing to have.
